Creative Zen Nano Digital Media PlayerAlong with today’s official rollout of SuffolkWave, JJML is also making six Creative Zen Nano 512MB digital media players (see photo at right) available to library patrons. Any adult JJML patron, or any juvenile patron with a signed permission slip, may borrow one of these players so that he or she may listen to media downloaded from SuffolkWave while on the go.

The player can be used to listen to either digital audio books or music downloaded from SuffolkWave. Other digital audio books and music may also work on the player. The players are loaned without headsets; users must provide their own. Earbud type headsets are available for purchase from the library for $3.00. Once purchased, the headsets become the permanent property of the purchaser.

As this is written the players are being given barcodes, and entered into our online cataloging system. This may take a day or two to complete, so they may not be available immediately. More information is available at the John Jermain and SuffolkWave websites.

On Saturday May 5th- the literary walking tour of Sag Harbor was a wonderful experience for all those who took part.  We met at Long Wharf walked up Main Street to Union went left half way down the block, then came back to Main Street.  We went up to Glover and down to LongIsland Ave.  We then went back to Long Wharf.  Tony Garro was a wonderful and enthusiastic guide .  I understand he will be doing this tour again in June.  I highly recommend it.  I’ll make sure I post the date once I know it.  He also has a patriotic tour and a maritime tour.  Any opportunity you have to hear one of Tony’s tours you’ll be happy you did!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner.  The library is a great place to come to find ideas for crafts to make Mom something.  We also have great cookbooks if you are thinking of making a special-breakfast-lunch or dinner.   The current magazines are also a good resource. We would love to help you find what you need to make “Moms’” day special.
