Stephen Sanfillipo, a specialist in the maritime music of Long Island, will sing a variety of songs, many of which may well have been sung by whalers putting out to sea from Sag Harbor.  He will accompany himself on banjo, concertina, harmonica and guitar.  We would love to have you come on Tuesday, July 25th at 7:30 and join us.

On a rainy day the Library is really busy!  The same wonderful things are available on every other day.  There are the computers to check your e-mail or even set an account up.  You can go to Yahoo or Hot mail and join the e-mailing world. Surprise someone in the family with a new skill.  Sometimes we have interesting programs going on.  July 18th we have “identity Theft Awareness” at 7pm.  There will be important information on how to protect yourself. Of course you can just browse!  Rain or Sun we would love to have you visit!

As always, on the day after a holiday and a rainy one at that, we are experiencing several technical difficulties.  If you plan on using our Internet computers, please phone first - right now, the Internet is down.  Also, the photocopy machine is broken and the repair person likely won’t get here to fix it until Thursday.  You can get copies made at the Variety Store, Chelsea Crossing, and, I believe, the laundromat.  Sorry for all of the inconveniences, now we are just waiting for the interior rain to start….

Summer is the perfect time to try something different, and your library is just the place to do it.  How about a new recipe from one of our large selection of magazines, or from a cookbook that looks interesting but you’re not sure that you want to buy. Why not check out our gardening books — maybe you have a green thumb. We have wonderful language tapes, too. Is this the summer you learn a new language?
Looking forward to seeing you at your library!
